Noah served as a Seaman First Class, U.S.S. Lagarto (SS-371), U.S. Navy during World War II.
He resided in Johnston County, North Carolina prior to the war.
The U.S.S. Lagarto was sunk by the Japanese minelayer Hatsutaka in the Gulf of Siam during the war.
Noah was declared "Missing In Action" in the Largarto's sinking.
He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Noah also has a "Cenotaph" in the Riverside Cemetery, Smithfield, North Carolina.
