Parents are Henry Fielding Parkinson and Agnes Archibald Kerr. Henry Parkinson had immigrated from England. Agnes Kerr had immigrated from Scotland. They settled in Wellsville, UT. Amos is their fifth and last child.

On November 6, 1907, in St. Anthony, ID, Amos married Della Riggs Jones. Amos was 28. Della was 16. They became the parents of two daughters, Agnes and Eva Marie, who both preceded their parents in death.

On September 12, 1918, when Amos was 39 years old, he registered for the WWI draft. The draft card describes him as medium height and build with blue eyes and dark hair.

Amos died when he was nearly 69 years old.
