Nobility. Duchess of Courland and Princess of Savoy-Carignan. She was the only child of Karl of Saxony, Duke of Courland and his morganatic wife Franziska Corvin-Krasinska. She married Carlo Emanuele of Savoy-Carignano in 1797 and bore him two children. Charles Albert succeeded his father and became the seventh prince of Carignano, and after the childless death of Duke Charles Felix in 1831 also King of Sardinia and Duke of Savoy. Her daughter Elisabeth married Rainier of Habsburg. Fifteen years after the death of her husband she married Prince Jules Maximilien de Montléart, Marquis de Rumont and bore him five children, but only Maria Augusta and Jules Maurice survived to adulthood. After her death in Paris she was brought via Brussels to Vienna and was buried at the Matzleinsdorfer Friedhof on Dec 8th. One year later, she and her daughters were exhumed and buried beside her parents at Sankt Marienstern.
