For more than 40 years a faithful Baptist minister. The son of John and Frances Daniel Moncure. His wife was Mary Conway Moncure. He married her in December of 1868 in Stafford County. In the War he served with Co.G of the 59th Virginia Infantry, then served as Chaplain of the 30th Virginia Infantry. After the war, he was pastor of Berea Baptist, when in 1866, he met with other community leaders in Stafford County to organize Ramoth Baptist Church.
