She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Ernest and Meriam Jenkins Spearman. Mrs. Jones was a retired assembler for Wix Filter and an established member of the former Free Saints Chapel. Fay, along with her late husband Tommy, loved to scooter poot. They were two of the greatest parents anyone could have asked for and adored their family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Elvin Jones, Sr.; son, Scottie Jones and three brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Tommy Jones, Jr. (Janet) of Cherryville, Danny Jones (Patricia) of Roan Mountain, TN, Peggy Jenkins (Terry) of Crouse, Susan Riddle (Kenneth) and Teresa Shehan (Greg) both of Cherryville; Grandchildren, Eric Jenkins (Melanie) of Crouse, Neill Jones (Katie) of Shelby, Charity Riddle-Chapman (Josh) of Mt. Holly and Anna Shehan Bowman (Nathan) of Cherryville; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
