Mr. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Anderson, 90, of Elberton, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home in Augusta, Georgia. Mr. Anderson was born on February 16, 1926 in Elberton, Georgia to the late Walton Lester and Macy Burton Anderson.

Mr. Anderson served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church.

He loved cattle farming, loved life and had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed playing guitar and ‘making music' with his brothers, family and friends.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary "Libby" Ray Anderson; two brothers, Alford and Oscar Anderson, and one sister, Betty Aldrich.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Gerlach (Greg) , Rebecca Anderson; three sons, Andy Anderson (Jeannie), Rick Anderson (Susan) and Steve Anderson, five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete Anderson, Buster Anderson, and Gene Anderson; sisters, Polly Van Buskirk, Lavera Balchin, and Ann Brown.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Anderson will be Saturday, Sept. 10th at 12:00pm in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 11:00am, just prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Coldwater United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
