Mrs. Samantha Hey, 75, Dies at Home Near This City
Mrs. Samantha Hey, 75, widow of the late Daniel Hey, died suddenly at her home one and one-half miles southwest of Shelbyville on the Columbus road at 9 o'clock Tuesday night.
Dr. W. R. Tindall, county coroner, was called and pronounced death due to heart disease.
She was born in Berks county, Pennsylvania, March17, 1862 and was, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Deck Shutt. On March 6, 1879 she married Mr. Hey, who died Nov. 5, 1932.
Eight children were born. They are Mrs. Hamilton Gray, Mrs. Charles Beall, Henry A. Hey, Isaac Hey, Cyrenus Hey and Elmer Hey, all of Shelby township and Mrs. Ed Inman of Shelbyville. Another son, Martin Hey, died in 1919. She also leaves 22 grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Hey was a member of the First Evangelical church, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. J. C. Klingerberger, pastor, officiating assisted by the Rev. Ernest L. Ford, pastor of the First Christian church. Interment will be in the Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing, funeral director.
