William Andrew "Andy" Martindale of Ridgeport, IN died at his home Sunday morning at three o'clock, following a severe attack of spinal and nervous trouble. Mr. Martindale was sixty-three years, four months and five days old. He was born October 16, 1856 near Ridgeport, son of Ralph Peter and Delila Davis Matindale of Center Township.

He was married August 20, 1874 to Elizabeth Jane Royal. To this union were born nine children, five boys and four girls: Ralph Edward Martindale of Worthington, IN; John Frank Martindale of Sharkey; Darwin G. Martindale of Bicknell, IN; Aytchaphala (Mrs. Truman) Stringfellow of Bloomfield; Jesse Benjamin, deceased; Flordella (Mrs. Ezra) Brosman of Broadland, IL; Barbara (Mrs. Ray) Wilson of Palestine, IL; Wm. Andy Martindale of Sharkey and Velma Martindale who remains at home.

He leaves a wife, eight children, twenty-four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter to mourn his departure. He was in poor health for four months, only confined to his bed three weeks. He was patient during all his sickness and said he was prepared for the home prepared above. He was buried at three p.m. Monday at Walnut Grove cemetery.
