Born August 21st, 1926, Sara was a native of Baton Rouge and loved by many. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph's Academy. After an early career in public relations Sara spent 30 years employed by the State of Louisiana. She enjoyed many years of retirement that were dedicated to her home and family.
Sara is survived by two sons, A.R. Harris Jr. and Samuel E. Harris; three grandsons, Ty Harris, Adam Harris, and Logan Harris; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Harris, and Jordan Harris; and life-long friends, Ruth Gillen and Georgie Brown Scobie.
She is preceded in death by parents, Sam and Lena Alise; former husband, A.R. "Cotton" Harris; beloved companion of 50 years George F. Brown; and granddaughter, Gina Alise Harris.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Tuesday, September 6th from 10am to 1pm. Services will be immediately thereafter, with burial following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Ty Harris, Adam Harris, Tyler Harris, Logan Harris, Leroy Watson, and Randy Montelbano. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bobby Lewis.
