Found in The State 02 June 1920: The remains of J. S. Gladney, a former Columbia man, who died in Atlanta Monday, will be brought here today and will be interred Thursday. Mr. Gladney was well known here and has many friends who will be saddened to hear of his death. Funeral services will be held at 1217 Hampton street tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be with Masonic honors by the Richland lodge. A Knights Templar escort will also attend the services. Mr. Gladney was a member of Richland lodge of Masons since 1899. He was also a member of Columbia chapter, No. 5, and of Columbia commandery, No. 2.
