Margaret C. (Orlando) Pickett of Billings, passed away on Aug. 29, 2016. She was born on Nov. 1, 1921, in Billings, the 8th child of a family of ten to Angelina (Brutto) and August Orlando. She graduated from Billings High School in 1939. She was employed by the Social and Rehabilitation Services as a Stenographer and Secretary for 25 years and also was employed by the Fish and Wildlife Services (Missouri River Basin Studies) as a secretary for 2 ½ years.
Margaret married James “Jim” O. Pickett on July 7, 1951, at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral Catholic Church. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
She loved to read, embroider, do jumble puzzles and enjoyed TV game shows and baseball games. Margaret was a very kind and gentle person, always going the extra mile for someone when it was needed.
She is survived by son Mike (LaDeen) Pickett of Billings; two darling granddaughters, Jessica (Mike) Castro and Eva Pickett of Billings; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; precious daughter, Janie Pickett; her parents; brothers, John, Emil, Ernie and Bob Orlando; and sisters, Emma Pirami, Anne Messer, Helen Sisco, Glory Ratcliff and Clara Brutto.
Viewing will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with Vigil Service beginning at 7 p.m., at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in Mountview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, New York 10004, or any charitable organization. .
