CHAUNCEY CASTOR DIES IN MINNESOTA

Chauncey L. Castor passed away suddenly at his home in Beardsley, Minn., March 10, on his 64th birthday, following a cerebral hemorrhage. He was born near Nashua in 1885, the son of Perry and Matilda Johnston Castor.

On February 21, 1906, he was united in marriage to Sophia Marie Wedemeyer, who survives him. To this union three children were born; Kermit Virgil, who died in 1932, Dale of Beardsley, Minn., and Marylyn (Mrs. Richard Chandler) of Nashua.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, two siste rs, Mrs. Jessie Weeks, Buffalo, Wyo. and Mrs. Angie Noble of Charles City; one brother, Truman of Nashua, and a large number of other relatives. The family lived in this community until 1927, when they moved to Minnesota and engaged in farming until the time of his death.

In early life Mr. Castor united with the Republic Christian church. He was a kind husband and a good citizen. A funeral service was held in the Methodist church at Beardsley March 12th, after which the body was brought to Nashua for services at the Chenoweth Funeral home on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Pall bearers were Kenneth McGregor, Charles Pierce, W. H. Scott, Clarence Hanson, Everett Hanson and Vernon Laird. The singers were Mesdames Robert White and Pat Hinch. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Those from a distance here for the funeral were Grant Castor, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Castor, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mahoney, Mr. and Mrs. George Binger and George Wedemeyer, all of Charles City; Richard Hinkley, Armstrong; Oscar Ransom, Mr. and Mrs. George Ransom, Herman Ransom, Mrs. Chris Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Clark, all of Lyle, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith, Carl Johnston, Mrs. Lourence Flugga and Everett Hanson all of Waterloo; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnston and Claire Johnston, Plainfield, and Mrs. Jessie Weeks, Buffalo, Wyo.
