Herald Coaster, April 14, 1970:

Funeral services for James Frank Sims, 78, of 1301 Seventh St., Rosenberg, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Second Baptist Church in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Homer Davenport officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Sims died Saturday at Retama Manor Rest Home in Richmond after a two and one-half months illness. He was a native of Carmine in Washington County and moved to Fort Bend County in 1936. He was a pumper with Humble Oil Co. Mr. Sims was a Past Noble Grand of Rosenberg I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Sims; six daughters, Mrs. Florence Waesch, Mrs. Mildred Yancey, and Mrs. Raye Dean, all of Rosenberg, Mrs. Ona Mae Shoaf of Clute, Mrs. Evelyn Kelso of Corpus Christi, and Mrs. Faye Ganske of Boling; three sons, Roy Sims of New Iberia, La., Walter Sims of Richmond, and Daniel Sims of Rosenberg; a sister, Mrs. Eva Nowell of New Mexico; a brother, B.F. Sims of Ingleside; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Ed Dittrich, George Vaculik, Roy Allen Sims, Wesley Sims, Sterling Ray Sims, and Terry Joe Cox.
