Carl was a son of Andrew & Catharina Rahn. He immigrated to Canada in 1869 and settled in the Province of Ontario.

On February 06th, 1877 he became the husband of Catherine Hollinger in Normanby Twp; Grey County. Marriage Register #003098.

Carl & Catherine raised a family of 11 children.

Carl Rahn
The death took place in Hanover on Friday of Carl Rahn. a former resident of Kitchener aged 79 years. He came to Canada at the age of 16 and in 1876 was married to Catharine Hollinger at Neustadt, who predeceased him in 1921. Previous to coming to Kitchener nine years ago, he resided in Hanover district. He is survived by three sons, Charles of Kitchener. Daniel of Mirror, Alta.. and Bert of Hampton; seven daughters, Mrs. Williams Ludeman. Silver Creek, N.Y.. Mrs. Pfeffer, city. Mrs. Philip Schaue, Hanover, Mrs. Charles Kesselring, Kitchener. Mrs. William Haase. near Hanover. Mrs. William Rahn and Mrs. Clayton Rahn, both of Hanover. One daughter died in infancy. The funeral was held in Kitchener on Tuesday afternoon in St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Interment took place in Mount Hope cemetery.
