Travis Carlyle Bowers, age 38, passed away on August 28, 2016 after a long battle with debilitating depression.

Travis was born on January 2, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lewis Carlyle Bowers and Shirley Rae Christensen Bowers.

Travis was a man whose infectious smile touched the lives of all who came in contact with him. Travis grew up in Kaysville, UT, Lima Peru, and Quito, Ecuador. He graduated from Davis High School. His high school friends remember his fondness for crazy adventures and pranks. His house was always the place to hang out, eat, play, and laugh!

After high school Travis served in the Venezuela Maracaibo Mission. He also served in many church callings, including Sunday School teacher, and Young Men leader.

Upon completing his mission he attended Utah State University and Weber State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Technical Sales. He later earned a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.

He started his career at Hard Rock Tools as a sales representative, and spent the last six years working as a civilian employee at Hill Air Force Base, where he was surrounded by supportive colleagues and associates.

Travis was passionate about soccer; he played on the Davis High School team and continued to play as an adult in various leagues. He loved watching soccer matches and had the opportunity to see several World Cup games in person. More recently he coached several youth soccer teams for the Wasatch Soccer Club.

Travis was the loving father of three children: Kamryn, Alexis and Dax. His children were imperative in his life that brought him much joy and fulfillment. He always found time for his children and loved to be with and play with them despite the many miles of separation. His children will miss his smiles, his jokes, his goofiness, his enveloping hugs, and his bald head.

Travis will be remembered as a loving son, devoted brother, caring and adoring father, and a true friend to the many, many friends he made in his brief earthly life. Everyone who came in contact with Travis was drawn to his charismatic personality.

Travis is survived by his three children: Kamryn Lorraine, and twins, Alexis Carlyle and Dax Travis; his parents: L. Carlyle Bowers and Shirley Rae Christensen Bowers; five siblings, Clayton Bowers, Bryon Bowers (Amy), Carla Bowers, Chris Bowers, and Camille Barnett (Nolan); 12 nieces and nephews; as well as his former spouse, Jamie Preece Olson; and his in-laws, Keith and Anita Preece.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother-in-law, Skyler Preece; and niece, Rachel Bowers.

The family expresses their thanks to the many friends and acquaintances who have offered sincere thoughts and prayers on behalf of Travis.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Travis Bowers Memorial Fund (GoFundMe) to support a scholarship for his children.
