She was the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Raush) Bilger. She married Charles Baker, who preceded her in death. On May 30, 1986, she married Donald Ake, who survives at the residence.
Also surviving are a son, Nick Baker, Akron; a daughter, Janetta Summers, Massillon; two step-children: Jeff (Cathy) Ake, Bellbrook, and Shelley (Jim) Simons, St. Marys; a brother, Rick (Rita) Frey, Cincinnati; a sister, Cathy (Lynn) Bowen, St. Marys; and seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are two daughters: Teresa Baker and Babette Baumgarten.
A 1958 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, she attended clown college and was a professional clown, performing as “Jolly the Clown”. She was a fantastic seamstress and altered clothing. She was the owner of the House of Costumes, St. Marys, and had also worked at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fisher Cheese, Allied Tube, and JC Penney. She was a sewing fanatic, enjoyed making crafts and fishing, studying genealogy and making woodworking projects. She was a member of the Auglaize County Historical Society.
Services will be at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. Keith Kivlin officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
