Edna F. Carlson, 96, of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Edna was born March 11, 1920, the daughter of Harvey J. & Nellie (Bainbridge) Bowman, Kingsley, Iowa. She grew up in the Kingsley area attending country school & graduating from Union High School. She married Russell E. Carlson on June 28, 1939. After their marriage they made their home in the Kingsley area where they raised their family. Russell passed October 20, 1991 in Kingsley, Iowa.
Edna continued to live at her home in Kingsley until 2012 when she went to the Kingsley Nursing & Rehab Center. Edna was a member of the Kingsley United Methodist Church where she was involved with many church activities.
Edna is survived by three sons, Ronald R. Carlson (Karen), Kingsley, IA, Wayne H. Carlson (Lorraine) of New Hampton, IA and Bruce E. Carlson (Barbara), Kingsley, IA and one daughter, Janice Elaine Denlinger (Dick), Moorpark, CA, 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Also, surviving Edna is her sister, Joyce Thomson and brother, Jack Bowman (Helen), both of Kingsley, IA.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lois L. Powell (Jerry), Betty E. Spink (Vance) and Max Thomson.
