Paula Mae Barrett was born November 24, 1929 to Paul and Lena Mae Hughes. She departed this life August 26, 2016 at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 2 days.
She graduated high school in California. Kenneth and Paula Mae Hughes wed on February 19, 1949 in California. While in California, they had three children: Kenneth Paul, Lawrence Richard and Sharon Leslie. In 1956, the family left California to come home to the Kellyville/Bristow area and had another son, Gene Clayton.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, working with cattle and listening to the older style country music.
She is survived by four children, Kenneth Paul Barrett of LaCyne, Kansas, Lawrence Richard Barrett of Greenport, New York, Sharon Leslie Wall of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Gene Clayton Barrett and wife Glenda of Bristow; one sister, Pat Hughes of California and brother, Lloyd Hughes and wife Naomi of Oregon; grandchildren Jennifer and Larry Johnston, Kenny Wayne and Ruby Barrett, Keith and Jamie Barrett, Brendon and Ashley Barrett, Malarie and Ryan Gotcher, Caitlin and TJ Lowther and Sonya Barrett; four great grandchildren, Austin, Luke, Jeremiah Johnston and Conner Barrett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Barrett July 19, 2016, and brother William Hughes.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jon Schaffner officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
