Carrie Mae Odom, age 88, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born August 1, 1928 in Rome, Georgia, the daughter of the late Claude Eugene Bohannon and the late Bessie Mae Morrow Bohannon. She was retired from Gold Kist Poultry with over twenty years of service. She was a member of the Freedom Point Church and enjoyed the fellowship of friends at the Senior Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children: Patricia & Bill Splawn of Marietta, South Carolina, Danny & Marion Odom of Temple, Georgia, Mary & Kenneth Noeller of Hinesville, Georgia, Cathy and Dennis Gatlin of Carrollton, Georgia, Rayford Odom of Lebanon, Tennessee, Troy and Sharon Odom of Woodbury, Tennessee, Bobby and Pansy Odom of Whitesburg, Georgia, and Alice and Johnny Colburn of Snellville, Georgia; one brother, Frank Bohannon of Douglas County, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Bill Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Concord UMC Cemetery on Hickory Level Road, Carrollton, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12 Noon until the hour of service.
