Carolyn K. Curry, 93, passed away at her Lancaster City home on Thursday, August 25, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Palmyra [sic] to the late David and Arabella M. E. (Johnson) Cooper. Carolyn's husband Ralph E. Curry died in 1967.

She attended Lancaster Catholic High School and worked in the Specialty Tube Department of RCA. Carolyn was baptized and raised in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was a current member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. A devout Catholic, she was active with the Altar group until age 80 and was on the Black Catholic Committee. She previously served an interim position on the Lancaster City Housing Authority.

Carolyn was the best, most loving and giving mother her daughters could ever ask for. She sewed all of their clothing when they were children. She was passionate about caring for her garden and yard, and was an avid New England Patriots fan.

Surviving are her three daughters, Deandra E. Brown, Joanne E. West and Clara J. Curry, all of Lancaster; and 9 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Ralph, Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara K. Curry and 9 siblings.

A Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with Rev. Bernardo Pistone as Celebrant. A viewing will take place from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday at church. Interment in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery will occur 10 AM Wednesday, August 31st.
