Virginia Arnold Schafer, 84, died Friday, April 2, 2004, at NHC of Hillview in Columbia. Mrs. Schafer was born in Dyersburg to the late Thomas Christopher and Callie Mae Anderson Arnold. She made her home in Bellevue and was a homemaker. Mrs. Schafer was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. "Bud" Schafer. Survivors include two sons, David (Maureen) Schafer of Stockton, N.Y., and Christopher Chris Schafer of Franklin; four daughters, Shirley (Ellis) Clark of Morrillton, Ark., Linda Clark of Dickson, Marilyn (Richard) Chrestman of Houlka, Miss., and Donna (Joe) Schmidt of Columbia; two brothers, Dortch Arnold and Don Arnold, both of Arkansas; three sisters, Frances Daugherty and Mary Clanton, both of Fairview, and Joyce (James) Smith of Manchester; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren...
