Phyllis (Reynolds) Grant, 96, of Jackson, passed away on August 25, 2016 at Harbor Hill in Belfast. Born November 13, 1919 in Jackson, Phyllis was the only child of Herbert and Mildred (Danforth) Reynolds. She graduated from Morse Memorial High School in 1936. She graduated from Farmington State Normal School in 1939. Later, she got her degree, a B.S. in Education, from the University of Maine in Orono. Phyllis taught school for 27 years in the towns of Frankfort, Jackson, Monroe and Brooks; she loved teaching little children.

Phyllis married Clifton Grant in 1942 and they shared many happy times together. She loved to go camping. She visited all the Eastern provinces of Canada and traveled to many Bluegrass Festivals throughout New England. She liked the holidays, especially Christmas, when her family was all together.

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, husband, son, Larry H. Grant, and son-in-law Richard Orcutt.
She is survived by two children, Gloria Orcutt of Jackson, and Ralph Grant and wife Linda of Waldoboro; grandchildren April J. Small and husband Kenneth III, Alan L. Orcutt and wife Amy, Holly H. Grant, Erik Grant and wife Sonja, Scott Grant and Amy Grant; great-grandchildren Alannah Orcutt, Sydney Orcutt, Sylvia Small, Alex Grant, and Brandon.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday September 17th at Jackson Corner Cemetery.
