Frank was born in Ellenton, SC on Sept. 17, 1936.
He was the son of Jimmy Clifford and Ollie Mae Muns Wood, and was one of six deceased siblings, Joby Wood, Lillian Huff, Joe Wood, and Mae Young all of Thomson and Bob Wood of Gwinnett Co., Ga. His former wife was Jeanette Brown Wood, Augusta, Georgia.
He is presently survived by his wife, one daughter, Gay Ansley of Appling, Ga., two sons, David Wood, Appling, and Cliff Wood, Brasselton, Ga., and three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Frank was a former manager of Winn Dixie, Augusta, Ga., where he worked for 13 years and agent/manager of Independent Life Insurance Company in Augusta and Ashville, NC for a number of years. For the past 37 years he has worked as Associate Broker for Bob Wood Realty, Buford, Georgia.
Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Little River Hunting Club in Warren County. He was a Mason and a former member of the National Guard.
He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, Thomson, and was an active member of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson.
