Passed away peacefully on Friday August 19, 2016 surrounded by loved ones.
Ben was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He attended the University of Texas and was employed in the paint and plate glass industry.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his love, Shirley Couvillon-Powell, sons Mark and Greg Powell and their wives Debbie and Diane, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and his sister Peggy Edwards.
With a last great effort of love, he and his sons softly sang a favorite hymn together. Echoes of his wonderful singing voice, daily crooning remembered songs, will remain with us forever. As Christians, we have faith we shall be together again.
