Dennis Conley, one of the La Salle's well known and highly respected citizens, passed away at his home, 823 Third street, at 12:15 today, following a short illness with pneumonia. Mr. Conley took sick only last Friday evening, and from that time until his death occurred at noon today there seemed to be very little hope for his recovery, and when the end came it was fully expected by the members of the family and his attending physicians.
Mr. Conley was born in Limerick, Ireland, sixty-seven years ago. He remained in his native land until seventeen years of age, when he, with his parents, came to America. They came direct to Illinois, settling at Evanston, Ill. He remained there for about fifteen years. Later he went to Wenona, Ill, and resided there until six years ago, when he came to La Salle to make his home. While in Wenona he was employed as section foreman for the Illinois Central Railroad. Since his arrival in this city, he was employed in the local yards of the same railroad. He was engaged in this work until last Friday evening, when his illness forced him to take to his bed.
He is survived by four sons and four daughters. They are William, Jeremiah, Dennis, Phillip, Katherine, Marie, Patricia and Margaret. Mrs. Conley died several years ago.
The Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
