Agnes Evelyn Joines, 86, of Riceville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at her residence.
A daughter of the late Arthur and Viola May Shamblin Barker, she was a longtime member of Eastanallee Baptist Church and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church at the time of her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, J.C. Joines; siblings, Leslie Barker, John Lee Barker, Ruth Barker, C.A. Barker, Nellie Faye Barker, Flora Barker, Mildred Barker, Violet Barker, James Barker and Alice Barker; and one granddaughter, Tammy Brock.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Lonnie Moses of Riceville; one sister, Minnie Dilbeck, age 96, of Chattanooga; two granddaughters and their spouses, Melissa and Greg Smith of Riceville, and Patricia and Jimmy Stephens of Tellico Plains; six great-grandchildren, Coty Smith, LaShay Smith, Hope Freeman, Kristin Watkins, Andrew Stephens and Victoria Stephens; and four great-great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Alli, Anna and Xander.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Byron Talbot and Brother Randy Harmon officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, and will proceed to Chestua Baptist Church Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
