James Timmons, age 86, of Flat Rock, AL went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 9, 2016. He retired from Wheland Foundry after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Fairview Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years Katie Neeley Timmons; two grand-daughters Kelly Stevens and Starla Stevens.
Surviving include his wife Dura Kirby Timmons of Flat Rock, AL; two daughters Ruth and Leonard Shelton of Trenton, GA and Shelia and Larry Stevens of Flat Rock, AL; one step-son Brandol (Claudine) Kirby of Flat Rock, AL; one step-daughter Debbie (Rev. Frankie) Carroll of Flat Rock, AL; one grandson Duane Allen of Hixson, TN; 3 great-grandsons Tyler, Matt, and Aaron Allen all of Hixson, TN; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday January 11, 2016 in the chapel with Rev. Keith Stanford and Rev. Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Church of God Cemetery, Flat Rock, AL. Family will receive friends from 1 PM until 8 PM Sunday and 11 AM until 1 PM Monday at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, GA.
