Mary E. Wheatley of Elverson Mary E. Wheatley, 69, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Wheatley, Sr., with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Thelma M. Emerson Loftus. Mary was the owner/operator of Mary’s Beauty Salon for many years and was also a realtor. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Church, Downingtown. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her son, Robert J. Wheatley, Jr. and his wife Traci; three sisters, Kathleen McAfee, Charlotte Trego (John), and Janice Hannum; a brother, William J. Loftus (Doris) and by two grandchildren, Robert J. Wheatley, III and Kylee Wheatley. An evening visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Avenue, Downingtown where family and friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
