Early Life: Russell was born June 30, 1928, in Westford, Wisconsin, to Walter Frank and Edith Schmidt Jahn. He grew up in Fox Lake, Wisconsin, and attended schools there.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served proudly for 22 years. While stationed at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City, he met his sweetheart, Beverly Jane Gleason; they married on June 14, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 30, 1963. Some of the places Russell served were Japan, Korea and many assignments in the States. After retirement from the military, Russell owned and operated several businesses in Wasatch and Utah Counties. Russell Walter Jahn, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away peacefully August 20, 2016, after having lived a long and full life centered around his family. He was 88.
Survived By: His four children: Diana (Ed) Driskill, Lewiston, ID; Paul Jahn, Salt Lake City; Pamela (Greg) Wright, Stafford, VA; and Michael (Alaina) Jahn, Pleasant Grove; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Beverly; his parents; his siblings: Ruby Hoefs, Raymond Jahn and Edwin Lawrence Jahn.
