John (Jack) Milligan Fox, born April 20, 1919, Cleveland, Ohio, died February 11, 2004 in San Diego. Jack was a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from St. Ignatius High and Case Institute of Technology. Jack enlisted in the Marines during WWII. He graduated Marine Officers Candidate School, Quantico, Va., then received post-graduate education at MIT. Jack faithfully served his nation during WWII, seeing combat action in the Pacific in 1944 and 1945 at Saipan, Peleliu and Okinawa. He remained a Marine (Reserve) until 1959, having attained the rank of Captain. In 1946, Jack married Eleanor Smith. They shared a deep love for one another. Their family grew to seven children.
Throughout his life, Jack was ethical, generous and courageous. His devotion to and love for his family will be sorely missed. Viewing February 13, at 6-8 p.m., Rosary 7:30 p.m., at Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego. Mass to celebrate Jack's life 9:30 a.m. February 14, at Nazareth House Chapel, 6333 Rancho Mission Road, San Diego. Burial at 1:15 p.m. February 14, at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California.
