Guy was an industrious man. He was talented in many ways, among them his ability to manipulate concrete making picnic tables and benches and doing concrete work at the Moran Cemetery. He made the best from scratch angel food cake and the catfish he caught and fried was out of this world. He put up his own preserves and jams and maintained a garden until the day he died. There were no "job roles" in the Steen home. If you had the time and knew how to do the job, you just did it because it needed to be done. By the time his granddaughters came along, he was soft spoken and had a dry wit. He always dressed neatly never crossing his legs at the knees, only the ankles. He was a true gentleman.
