David Orrin Burt, 80, of Conrad, IA passed away Friday, August 12, 2016, at Grundy Memorial Hospital under Cedar Valley Hospice care, in Grundy Center, IA.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at First Congregational Church, in Marshalltown, IA. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August, 14, 2016, at the Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes. Private family internment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, in rural Gladbrook, IA.
David was born May 15, 1936 to Richard and Bertha (Soules) Burt, in Aurora, IL. He moved to Marshalltown in 1946 where he grew up. He graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1954. David was united in marriage to Regina Sienknecht on February 10, 1957 He farmed rural Marshalltown for 36 years. David was a member of the First Congregational Church.
David will be missed by his wife, Jeanie, three sons; Reid A. of Marshalltown, Michael (Julie Marie) of Savage, MN, Scott (Renita) of Castle Rock, CO, a daughter, Julie Ann (John Pacelli) of Bridgewater, NJ, six grandchildren who are his pride and joy; Alexa, Austin, Kelsey, Hayley, Paul, and Sarah, a brother, Roger (Barb) of West DesMoines, a sister, Jean (Tom Hallam) of Cape Coral, FL, and a sister in law, Kathryn Burt, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
