Marie E. Peters, 92, of Palmer Township, PA, formerly of Wilson Borough, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, in Easton Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1924 in Wapwallopen, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Hoch Lutsey. Her husband of 54 years, Floyd R. Peters, passed away Oct. 6, 2002.
Marie had been an Avon representative for 20 years. She loved spending time with her family. Marie was a member of St. John's Church on Morgan Hill, where her church family was important to her. She was a member of the former Memorial United Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Surviving Marie are four children, Susan Heller and her husband, Alan, of Nazareth, PA; Joan Pennucci of Stockertown, PA; Linda Cook and her husband, Ed, with whom Marie resided, and Bob Peters and his wife, Debbie, of Wilson Borough, PA; a brother, Elwood Lutsey of Palmer Township; and a sister, Marilyn Colonna and her husband, Frank, of Forty Fort, PA. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Jennifer Pennucci-Smith and her husband, Patrick, Lori Belton, Bradley Heller and his wife, Alana, Jason Applegate and his wife, Kristine, Scott Heller, Matthew Pennucci and Sarah Peters; eight great-grandchildren, Mackenna, Sean, Katie, Luke, Nathan, Tyler, Keira and Kaitlyn; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, Marie was predeceased by a sister, Lois Peters and her husband, Willard, and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Lutsey.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in St. John's Church on Morgan Hill, 2720 Morgan Hill Rd., Williams Township, PA. Call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. The Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough, is in charge of arrangements.
