Elwood J. Lutsey, 89, formerly of Palmer Township, PA, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 in Alexandria Manor, Nazareth. Born June 30, 1928, in Wapwallopen, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph E. and Frances (Hoch) Lutsey. His wife of 66 years, Beatrice (Hooper) Lutsey, died April 24, 2015.

Elwood retired from the former J.T. Baker Chemical Company in 1990, where he worked for 31-1/2 years. Elwood enjoyed playing poker, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a volunteer transporting children to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Philadelphia and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Elwood was an active member of Palmer Moravian Community Church, where he was a former sacristan and served on the board of trustees. He was also a member of Easton Lodge 152, F & AM, Easton Forest 35, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Easton Rangers 35 and Rajah Temple.

Surviving are a son, Wayne E. Lutsey and his wife Carol, of Orwigsburg, PA; two daughters, Sharon Rowe and her husband Dennis, and Diane Berger and her husband Paul, all of Wilson Borough, PA; and a sister, Marilyn Colonna and her husband Frank, of Forty Fort, PA;. He also leaves eight grandchildren, David Gary and his wife Valerie, Melissa Greg and her husband Christopher, Heather Frantz and her husband Jared, Eric and Nicole Lutsey, Katie Gaston and her husband Caleb, Keri Berger and Stacy Rowe; nine great-grandchildren, Averi, Leighton, Everett, Landon, Cole, Blake, Harper, Elijah and Janessa; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Marie and Lois Peters.

Masonic services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday followed by religious services at 10:30 a.m. in Palmer Moravian Community Church, 2901 John Street, Palmer Township. Call Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Entombment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
