James Frank Van Cleave
June 12, 1924 - August 15, 2016

James Frank Van Cleave of Tullahoma passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Lynchburg Nursing Center. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 17 at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Stephen Yates officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until the service time.

He was born in Chapel Hill, Tennessee on Jun 12, 1924. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Van Cleave. He grew up in Chapel Hill helping his father farm and graduated from Chapel Hill High School.
He entered the University of Tennessee and was able to complete three years before entering the war. Mr. Van Cleave served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in the European Theater of battle during World War II.
Upon returning to the states, Mr. Van Cleave married Marie Bianconi and continued his college career graduating with a degree in business administration from U.T.
He began working at Arnold Center in Tullahoma in 1955 and continued working until his retirement in 1985. He worked with several contractors in the human resources division.
Mr. Van Cleave was a man of many interests. He was a pilot, an avid reader, an accomplished woodworker, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tullahoma.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William M. Van Cleave; one sister, Jane Van Cleave Kerr and one grandchild, James Van Cleave.

He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Marie B Van Cleave of Tullahoma; three sons, Frank Van Cleave and his wife, Claudia of Lynchburg, John Van Cleave and his wife, Mary Layne of Brentwood and Tom Van Cleave of Flowery Branch, GA; four grandchildren, Lauren Van Cleave of Huntsville, AL, Andrew Van Cleave of Brentwood, Lindsey Van Cleave of Nashville and Renee’ Crandall and her husband, Keith of Flowery Branch, GA and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Tullahoma Humane Society, 942 Maplewood Ave, Tullahoma, TN 37388 and Coffee County Lannom Memorial Public Library, 312 N Collins, Tullahoma, TN 37388.
