Nordeen Snortum, 91, of Adams, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at his home.

Nordeen was born on June 18, 1925 in Marshall Township to Carl and Elsie (Huntley) Snortum. He attended Adams High School. He farmed on the family’s farm in Marshall Township for most of his life. He enjoyed fixing farm machinery, cars and trucks.

Nordeen always liked to lend a helping hand. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Marshall Lutheran Church. Nordeen taught Sunday school for many years and was very active with the Gideons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold Snortum; and half-brothers, Alvin and Harold Rosenthal.

Nordeen is survived by his sister, Elaine Johnson of Fairchild, Wisconsin; one niece; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Marshall Lutheran Church with the Reverend Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Marshall Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service.
