In the passing of M. . Adams, father of Mrs. A.Andrews of thes city, another one of the old time Southerns has crossed over the great divide. He was born in the state of Mississippi August 10th, 1844 and was reared in that State. And when the North and South crossed swords in 1861, he joined Robert E. Lee's army, and followed the flag of the Southern Confederacy throughout that awful war. Was a member of the Baptist Church. Was married to Miss Martha Cantrell in 1866, and five children were the fruit of this union. He came to Texas in the year 1865, which was his home until his demise. One brother, four children, twenty grandchildren and ten great grandchildren are left to morn his death. Funeral services were held at the Albany Cemetery. The News extends condolence to the bereaved family in their great sorrow.
