This photo of WILLIAM MARION JAMES was taken in the sugar cane patch located on the South side of the property now owned by Ed Ogletree. William Marion James was born in 1853, died in 1926, was married to Lucy McMahen and raised a family of six boys - - Willie, Irvy, Mack, Grady, Nolan and Lamar, and two girls - - Lila and Mabel. They owned several acres of land in North Union, just North of the Neshoba County line and had their home on the property now owned by Mr. and Mrs. C. Murray James, 335 North Street. From their eight children, they now have well over 100 descendants and all have left Union except four - Wilmer and Murry, sons of Grady and Maude James, Albert and Louise, son and daughter of Nolan and Elvie James. The only two living children are Lamar James from Lena and Mabel Fuller from Jackson.

WILL JAMES DEAD
Meridian, April 28. - Will L. James of Union, aged 73 years, died Tuesday at 1:15 a. m. at a local hospital.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J. J. Healy, of Conehatta; Mrs. H. G. Full, of Union; six sons, W. T. of Hamilton, Texas; I. A., of Drew; L. L., of Lena; H. G. and S. M., of Union, and Mack, of Meridian.
The body accompanied by members of the family, was carried to the former home in Union Tuesday at 7 a. m. where funeral services and interment were held.
