Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Kathryn Messman Kelly, 88, who passed away at her home Monday evening, February 19, 2018.

Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.

She is survived her three sons, Gregory Kelly and his wife Donna of Brentwood, Tennessee, Dr. John Kelly and his wife Elizabeth of Oneida, New York, and David Kelly and his wife Marguerite of Lafayette, Louisiana; her seven grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Brian, Andrew, Tyler, Ross, and Camille; her three great grandchildren, Amelie, Miles, and Elise; a sister, Rose Mary Perryman and her husband, James; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert Dean "Bob" Kelly; parents, Arthur John Messman and Mary Ankenbrand Messman; brother and sister in law, Raymond A. Messman and wife, Mary Fran Butler Messman; and a nephew, Marcus Messman.

Kathryn was born in Browns, Illinois and was a long term resident of Naperville, Illinois. She received her undergraduate and law degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign. As an attorney, Kathryn specialized in real estate, wills and estate planning. Kathryn served for many years in various capacities for the United Way of Naperville, as president of the Home and School Associations for Elmwood Elementary and Lincoln Junior High School, as president of Little Friends Inc, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of disabled children and adults, and as a board member of Lewis University. Kathryn was a charter member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Naperville where she served as the parish's legal counsel for 25 years. She was also a member of the parish council and helped organize St. Raphael's religious education program.
