Services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at 8th & Woodland Street Original Church of God. Visitation with family will be from 6-8 pm Saturday at Roundtree, Napier & Ogilvies Columbia Funeral Home.
Mr. Abernathy was born Dec. 7, 1945, to Amanda Hunt Abernathy and the late Sylvester Abernathy. He was an employee of Hyperion of Lewisburg. He was a United States veteran. He was a member of 8th Street Church of God.
Bro. Abernathy was preceded in death by brothers Columbus Sylvester Abernathy, Joe William Abernathy and Reece Maurice Abernathy; and sister Evalee Abernathy.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, a very loving and devoted wife, Lottie Webster Abernathy; devoted sons William "Tony" (Carla) Webster of Columbia, Patrick (Patricia) Webster of Mt. Pleasant and Rodney (Diane) Webster of Murfreesboro; a very devoted mother, Sis. Amanda Abernathy of Columbia; eight loving sisters: Ethel Armstrong of Lewisburg, Mary McGill of Columbia, Daisy Mathers of Mt. Pleasant, Carolyn Booker, Sandra and Betty Abernathy, Coleen (Randy) Mathers and Edith (Charles) Bills, all of Columbia; loving brothers Robert (Terri) Abernathy of Las Vegas, NV, and Sammy (Elaine) Abernathy and Eddie Abernathy, both of Columbia; mother-in-law Mrs. Ethel Frierson Mathers of Columbia; aunts Mrs. Birdie Green of Chicago, IL, Mrs. Lauretta Vestal of Mt.
