Christine V. Spears, 76, of Jefferson City, formerly of Waynesville, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born on Aug. 25, 1927 in DeKalb County, Alabama, the daughter of Wofford Lee and Caldona Elizabeth Wooten Barron.

She was married on Oct. 30, 1943 in Anniston, AL to Russell James Spears who died on Aug. 31, 2002.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Kim Spears, Jefferson City; and Donald and Genevieve Spears, Holts Summit; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Mervyn Nelson, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Charles Barron, Huntsville, AL; and Aubrey Barron, state of Alabama; and two sisters, Lucille Ayers, Chattanooga, TN; and Catherine Moore, Richland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; and sisters.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
