CHARLES GIBSON
Charles Thomas Gibson and Sarah Ray Gibson, was born November 15, 1885 at Hatfield, Missouri and departed this life September 20, 1968 in the West Heights Manor in Clarinda, Iowa.
On May 4, 1906 he was united in marriage with Bessie Pottorff, in Hatfield and to this union were born 13 children.
In the spring of 1968 he was converted.
He was preceded in death by his companion; three infant sons, Elmer, Raymond and Laverne; a daughter, Jessie Tindle in 1946; his brothers, Hiram and Jim and sisters, Dollie Combs, Maggie, Vada, and Ross.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his children; George Gibson, Turner, Oregon; Irene Cook, Elliott; Arlene Marshall, Shenandoah, Lloyd Gibson, Fulton, Missouri, Esther Allen, Fort Scott, Kansas, Ernie Gibson, Macon, Missouri, Darlene Fritts, Harrisonville, Missouri, Maxine Durossette, Belton, Missouri, and Jim Gibson, Dunbar, Nebraska; a brother Jay Gibson; four sisters, Mary Fletcher, Cora Nelson, Nancy Moore, and Flora Maxwell; 51 grandchildren; 103 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held September 23, from the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Ward Campbell, pastor of the Free Methodist Church. Mrs. Robert Fisher and Mr.s Billie Kelley, vocalist, were accompanied at the organ by Margaret Pence. Casket bearers were Robert Marshall, Tommy Allen, Ivan Tindel, Bobby Gibson, Frank Durossette, and Albert Cook. Burial was in the Ringgold Cemetery.

SERVICES ARE HELD TODAY
FOR FORMER MT. AYR RESIDENT

Mt. Ayr - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at Rhoades Funeral Home here for Charles Gibson, 82, formerly of Mt. Ayr, who died Friday at West Heights Manor in Clarinda. A retired farmer he had lived most of his life in the Mt. Ayr vicinity.
Rev. Ward Campbell officiated at today's services and burial was in Ringgold Cemetery, 10 miles south of Mt. Ayr. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Irene Cook of Elliott, Mrs. Arlene Marshall of Shenandoah, Mrs. Esther Allen of Ft. Scott, KS, Mrs. Darlene Fitts of Harrisonville, MO., and Mrs. Maxine Durossette of Belton, MO., four sons, George of Turner, OR, Lloyd of Julton, Mo., Ernest of Makane,MO., and James of Dunbar, NE. A total of 48 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren as well as four sisters and a brother, also survive.
