Mr. Zephaniah Underwood died at 1 o'clock on Tuesday, the 17th inst. at his home near Harveysburg, after a protracted illness, in his 80th year. The deceased was a son of the late Amos Underwood, and had lived in Clinton county since early childhood. The early part of his active life was spent in the Texas neighborhood, in Wayne township, but he had lived at his late home, near Harveysburg, for forty years. He was well known throughout Clinton county and highly esteemed. The widow, two sons, two daughters, a brother, Elihu, residing near Harveysburg, and a sister living in the far west, survive. The funeral services will take place at the house today (Thursday) at 2 o'clock p.m.. Interment in Waynesville cemetery.
