SLC, UT-Virginia Chapman Alley, 96, passed away August 3, 2016 in Delta, UT. Born, Jan. 2, 1920, in Ogden, to Isaac and Althea Chapman. Grew up in Garfield, UT. Worked at Kennecott during WWII. Married George F. Alley, Nov. 6, 1942. Later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Raised their sons, Mike and Bob, in Magna. In 1973, moved to 9th South area of Salt Lake City. George passed away in 1981. She moved to Delta in 2013. Active member of LDS Church. Member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Wasatch Doll Club. Loved to cook, sew, crochet, make and dress dolls and collect miniatures. Her happiest times were spent with her family whom she loved deeply.
Survived by children: Mike (Valerie) Alley, Hinckley, UT; Bob Alley, Ammon, ID; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson; brothers: James N. Chapman and Rodney O. Chapman; sisters-in-law: Laura "Peg" Alley and Mary Jean Alley. Preceded in death by parents; husband: George; brothers: Earl and Lee Chapman.
