She was born in Gaston County, to the late Flay and Vergie Viola Dellinger Huffstetler.

She was retired from textiles and attended Cherokee Street Baptist Church, Kings Mountain.

Alta Mae is survived by her daughter Nancy Boone Landers; son Billy Odell Boone; stepson James Hardin; sisters Melvine Parton, Berry Jean Huskey and Brenda Irvin; brothers Floyd and Michael Eugene Huffstetler; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Eugene Hardin, sons Billy Wray Boone, Jr. and Jason Shane Boone; daughter Terri Dawn Boone; sister Martha Young; brothers Ernest and Dennis Huffstetler.
