Army veteran of World War II where he was a sergeant serving under General Patton. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. (Hendrick) Hudgins, he is survived by a son and a daughter (and their spouses)---and one grandson.

Charlie was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and was involved in the Senior Citizens Police Academy, among other organizations. He was also known as "the Karaoke Crooner" at JD's on Wednesday nights.
