Shannon Thompson, a resident of Dothan, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at her home. She was 40.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, August 7, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Maxine Chappell and Jennifer Daughtry officiating. Entombment will follow in the Gardens of Memory mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.
Shannon Thompson was a lifelong resident of Dothan and was a 1994 graduate of Northview High School. She achieved an Associate Degree in Nursing from Wallace Community College. Shannon was employed as a Registered Nurse at Flowers Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Hayward Thompson, her grandson, Kodah Shane Ellenburg and her grandmother, Margaret Sampley.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Brieana Farmer Kirkland (Brandon), Ozark; and Mary Elizabeth Farmer, Dothan; her mother, Carol Parker Thompson, Dothan; an aunt, Mary Ann Cleghorn (Grandmary), Wetumpka; uncles, Allen Sampley, Wetumpka; and Michael Lee Parker (Mae), Deatsville, AL; numerous cousins.
