Sarah M., daughter of Philip and Senthy Blaine, was born in Scotland County, Mo. March 29, 1878 and passed away in her sleep in the early morning of May 25, 1954 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 20 days.
On April 7, 1895 she was united in marriage to James L. Hinton, also of Scotland County. They later moved to Lewis County, Mo. To this union were born seven children; two sons and a daughter died in infancy.
The surviving are two sons, Guy P. and Lee G. Hinton of Bedford; two daughters, Mrs. Lula E Cortner of Blockton and Mrs. Lola M Quinn of Clearfield.
The family came to Iowa In 1908, locating In Page County, then to Taylor County, retiring in Clearfield in 1936. The husband and father died Aug. 6, 1949.
Mrs. Hinton united with the Oak Hill Christian Church near Gravity and was faithful to her faith to the end. She was a member of the Christian church Home Dent. She loved her home and her friends.
To cherish her memory besides her two sons and two daughters are four brothers, George Blaine of Lenox, Robert John and Oil Blaine and two sisters, Cora Albridge and Magpie Albridge, all living near Memphis, Mo.; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the J. R. Crew Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p. m., Rev. Wm. Howes officiating. Burial was in, Clearfield cemetery. Casket bearers were six grandsons, Dale Walters, Curtis Raper, Wilfred Quinn, Ray and Donald Hinton and A. Edmond.
