Mr. Mark B. Harshbarger, 42, of RR3 Box 331, Meshoppen, Pa., (Briar Ridge), passed away in Buchans Junction, Newfoundland, Canada, on Thursday evening, Sept. 14, 2006, as a result of a hunting accident. Mark passed away doing what he loved best, being outdoors.

Mark was born in Lewistown, Pa., on Oct. 11, 1963, a son of Leonard Lee Harshbarger of Sweet Valley, Pa., and the late Beulah Anna Youtzy Harshbarger, who passed away in 1995. Mark was a graduate of the Lake Lehman High School, Class of 1981. While in high school, Mark was a member of the wrestling team, where be was a member of the 1981 AA PA. State Team Championship team. After high school he entered the U.S. Air Force, serving his country from 1981 until 1984, as a military police officer, serving stateside. For the last 17 years he was employed as a projects manager for P.D.G. Environmental, of Drums, Pa.

Mark was a member of the Franklin Lodge 263 F&AM, of Laceyville, Pa. He was also a member of the N.R.A., and he was a wildlife nuisance control agent for the Pa. Game Commission. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, and be also enjoyed working on the family farm on Briar Ridge.

Besides his father, Also surviving are his son 7 months, his daughter 4 years old, and a stepdaughter all of Meshoppen, Pa.; two sisters one of Cadiz, Ohio; and one of Dallas, Pa.;2 brother-in-laws, his two brothers,one brother and his wife of Burlington, Pa.;and other brother of Meshoppen, Pa.; a brother-in-law Of Meshoppen, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Meshoppen, Pa. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted by the members of the Franklin Lodge 263 F&AM at 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Franklin Lodge 263 F&AM, c/o Mr. Robert Innamorati, 25 Susquehanna Ave., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
