Lynn Jay Healey was born on May 22, 1941 to Dayton Ephraim and Margaret Catherine Peterson Healey. He married Alice Jean Johnson on Dec 16, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lynn passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 after many years of debilitating illness caused from strokes. He is survived by his wife (Jeannie), daughter Kathryn Jean Vandiver (John Scott), son Richard Lynn Healey (Tanya) and their four children Richard James, Rebecca Jean, Jared Dean and Julia Dawn, and son Dayton Joseph Healey He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carolyn Healey Noyce (Tim).
He attended the University of Utah where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and his CPA Certificate. He was a Captain in the US Air Force serving in various locations around the world. He worked his entire life in the health care field including controller of Holy Cross Hospital for 15 years and a Medicare Auditor for 10 years.
Lynn enjoyed scouting where he served as a scout leader and trainer for 27+ years. He served the youth of the areas he lived in which included troops in Australia, Azores, and multiple states in the US. He also enjoyed camping with his family and his scout troops. He enjoyed taking pictures wherever he went. He also enjoyed gardening, playing board games and attending movies and outings with his children. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor, even at the very end tickling his newest grand daughter's feet.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holladay 2nd Ward, 4568 South Holladay Blvd. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and Friday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
